Communication converters

Communication converter
Communication converters are used for converting signals from serial protocol to RS485. This consequently allows there to be a greater distance between either an access or time and attendance controller, aligned into a communication line, and a computer or server with the relevant software running.

The power supply and converter Spider USB/NET is designed for use with the standalone access controller Simplex or time and attendance controller Focus. It has an integrated communication converter.

One Spider communication converter can be connected to a total of 128 Populus access controllers and Focus and/or Regis time and attendance controllers in one communication line.

COMMUNICATION CONVERTERS

Communication converters:

Spider USB

SPIDER USB - is a RS485 to USB communication converter with a 12V DC power supply. The RS485 connector is of RJ45 type. The device can take power supply from USB and work only as a communication converter, so it can be used where mains power is not available.

Spider NET

SPIDER NET - has an integrated RS485 to TCP/IP converter and is connected to a controller with UTP kable. The Spider NET is connected into the local area network (LAN) - communication between the Spider NET and access control or time and attendance software runs over the network.
