Guard Tour terminal
Markus Guard Tour terminals are designed to control the movement of security personnel. The system is designed in such a way that the night guard on duty carries a Guard Tour terminal, which is a contactless reader of tags that are attached to posts to be bypassed. In addition to a contactless reader of patrol tags, the Terminal also has a built-in clock.
Before the tour starts, the guard needs place his own personal proximity key fob or card to the Guard Tour terminal in order to record the start of his round.
The guard then carries out his round - when he comes to the checkpoint, he approaches the Guard Tour terminal to the contactless tag on the control point and reads the code of this post. The Guard Tour terminal also records the time of each event.
At the end of his shift the guard returns to the control center, putting the Guard Tour terminal into its seat for data transmission, which is connected with a USB cable to the computer. This computer is equipped with a program for the transmission and processing of the collected data, which are transferred to an archive of events on the computer.
The supervisor can then review the events recorded by the Guard Tour terminal at a later point and present reports in graphical or text form according to various criteria (guards names, dates, shifts, events etc.).
A single Guard Tour terminal can be used by many guards. When the next guard takes the Guard Tour terminal after the first guard, he should begin by bringing his personal identification card or key fob to the Guard Tour terminal - thereafter all the events will be recorded by the last subscribed guard.
For the recording of events reported from a number of Guard Tour terminals, one seat for data transmission and one program for their treatment is sufficient.
