Parking lot equipment
Parking lot management systems enable the user to operate a parking barrier with controlled parking access privileges. The system is ideal for apartments, gated communities, business parking lots, garages and university parking areas etc.
The parking lot management system consists of a central monitoring computer with the ParkV7 program, an entry and exit terminal equipped with a videophone and two barriers with vehicle detectors (induction loops).
The system is based on processing bar-coded tickets. Any driver who wishes to park in the parking lot must press the button on the entry terminal to receive a parking ticket. When the ticket is printed out, the barrier rises and the driver may enter the parking lot. When he wishes to leave the parking lot, he pays the parking fee at the cash register and receives a payment voucher with a bar code. This bar code is then read by the appropriate reader in the exit terminal; this opens the barrier and enables the driver to exit.
The functions of the entry and exit barriers (opening, being open all the time) can be controlled from the information counter or from the ParkV7 program package, which also displays the position of the barriers.
Vehicle detectors (induction loops in the ground in front of the barrier) prevent the barrier from opening when there are no vehicles present and do not allow the barrier to close until the vehicle has safely left the parking lot.
There exists the further option of steering the system with subscription cards whose validity can be modified, added and changed, and on which time limitations can be set.
The program has an integrated Anti-Pass Back function which prevents multiple vehicles entering using the same subscription card. The entire system is modular and can be additionally extended or modified. Further possibilities include the options of adding transit terminals and/or it being upgraded with a license plate recognition system.
